Our Favorite Web Show Star!
On a whim of fandom, Lumi decided to e-mail the amazing “verymarykate girl” and ask her if she would think about maybe-possibly doing a interview with Auntie Wicked’s? Lumi was really VERY sad because she thought the web-video-making girl was going to be too cool and wasn’t going to agree to an interview.BUT THEN something amazing happened! The verymarykategirl said, “SURE “and Lumi found out that the verymarykate girl’s real name is: Elaine Carroll!Lumi also found out that she’s famous AND a for-real actress and loves space. It’s a very rare moment when the aunties get amazed about something and then stay amazed but to get even more amazed? Now that almost never happens. Today though, it did!! We bring you that verymarykate girlwho amazed us, became Elaine Carroll, and proved that Tina Fey is not the only cool, smart, funny actress out there!
Aunties:We just had no idea you did so much with sketch comedy when we e-mailed you! That’s so exciting and cool! What has been your most challenging sketch ever?
Elaine: The most challenging VMK was probably the recent episode called “Cheating”.
There were a lot of people, props, and location things to coordinate. It’s also the longest episode, clocking in at an epic 2 minutes.
Aunties: and tell us about the sketch comedy group you are a part of?
Elaine: I started off doing internet sketch comedy when I was in college with a group called Dutch West. It’s an amazing group of insanely hilarious people. I’ve also done sketch comedy at UCB with another group of insanely hilarious people called Gramps.
Aunties: You recently went on Mad Men, was doing that show very different from what you have done in the past? Are you a fan of the show? And would you want to go back and do more there?
Elaine:Doing Mad Men was awesome. I’m a big fan and I’d go back in a heartbeat. It was pretty different from the stuff I’ve done recently in that I didn’t have to edit the footage together at 2am. (I volunteered and they said no.)

Aunties:As sad as we are you that you didn’t get on SNL (FOOLS!) – it was how you decided to turn an impersonation into a whole character for a web show, right?

Elaine: Bingo.
Aunties: We really hope their are many seasons of verymarykate but now we hope to see lots more of you! In fact in five years, we hope to see you ruling SNL, taking over Tina Fey’s Job ,and earning Oprah’s money – but that’s just us;) Where do YOU see you going? What are you doing there? And how does your cat take all of it?
Elaine: I wouldn’t mind having a career like Tina Fey’s career or a bank account like Oprah. I want to do more web series, as well as more film and television. Everything I do will in some way involve my cat which I’m sure he’s thrilled about.
Aunties:Really big verymarykate fans know you went on a break from making episodes, any hopes of us finding out where you went and what you were doing?
Elaine: I broke my ankle actually. I was on the couch with a cast up to my knee. It’s still healing, but it feels a lot better.
Aunties: Holy crap, that sounds terrible and we though you were just burnt out! Its obvious from all the new shows that you are back and even better than season one! “The floor shot the cat” is a new fall back conversational booster for wicked and Lumi. Any idea where the series is going to go this season or is it a secret? Can we look forward to more guests like Zac Efron?Elaine: It’s a secret!
Aunties: We really just can’t wait to see what this new seasons secret surprises are and we could keep you chatting forever but we know u are a busy girl so if you don’t mind just a few random questions before you go!

Elaine: EVERYTHING. is the coolest thing about space. Have you heard about this goldilocks planet? I can’t google it enough…goldilocks planet
#2 : Your comedic hero?
Elaine: Lady Gaga.
#3 Do you have a favorite dinosaur?
Elaine: The velociraptor, predictably.
